Payton Allen is a Visalia native that graduated from Golden West High School. Coach Allen played baseball at COS for three years, earning multiple All-Conference Awards and hit over .400 in his third season. He was voted Co-MVP of the league.

Following his three years at COS, Coach Allen transferred to Fresno State to play baseball under Mike Batesole. He played for two years, one of those with a batting average over .300. Coach Allen earned his degree from Fresno State in Kinesiology Physical Education.

Throughout his experience on and off the baseball diamond, Coach Allen learned the importance of hard work and perseverance, something that he will instill in the next generation of Mt. Whitney baseball players. He looks forward to leading his team and the program.
