Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Basketball team for knocking off the Badgers of Yosemite High School at Charles Marshall Court on Valentine’s Day. The Lady Pioneers are entering unfamiliar territory as they head to Rosamond High School to take on the 21–8 Roadrunners, ranked No. 3 in Division 5. This marks the program’s third straight playoff appearance and the first time in more than 25 years that the team has advanced to the second round. Coach Aston and his staff have done a tremendous job building around strong senior leadership while developing young talent, creating a recipe for success. The quarterfinal game will be played at Rosamond High School on Wednesday, February 18 at 6:00 PM. With a winter weather advisory in the Tehachapi Pass, the game could be postponed to Thursday or Friday. Please stay tuned for any schedule updates. Kaylie Mares was named Pursuing Victory With Honor Player of the Game, hitting key baskets to put the Lady Pioneers on top of the Badgers.
