4 IN A ROW!

The Pioneers didn’t just beat Porterville — they overwhelmed them. In a relentless offensive display, the Pioneers racked up 15 hits and scored in all but one inning on their way to a commanding 14–5 win over the Panthers on the road. The victory marks their fourth straight, pushing their season record to 9–6–1 and signaling a team finding its rhythm at the right time. From the opening pitch, the Pioneers applied pressure. Even when the bats briefly cooled in the third inning, the lineup quickly reignited, delivering consistent production up and down the order. Jaxon Franks and Eli McLennan set the tone at the plate, each collecting three hits and consistently putting the Panthers’ defense on its heels. They weren’t alone. Jacob Carrasco, Matteo Zuniga, and Genaro Villarreal each contributed two hits, while Jacob Barney, Ryan Welch, and Sawyer Sowers added to the hit parade with one apiece. But it was the late innings where the game truly broke open. Clinging to a lead, the Pioneers’ offense erupted in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, pouring in 12 runs to turn a competitive game into a rout. The defining moment came in the sixth, when McLennan launched a grand slam that blew the game wide open and gave the Pioneers a 9–4 cushion they would only build upon. On the mound, Genaro Villarreal delivered a strong, steady performance. The right-hander worked six innings, striking out seven and keeping the Panthers from mounting any sustained comeback. Heriberto Garcia entered in relief and shut the door, preserving the win and completing the effort. Now riding momentum and confidence, the Pioneers will look to keep the streak alive as they return home for a rematch against the Panthers. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., moved up in anticipation of possible evening rain. If this latest performance is any indication, the Pioneers aren’t just winning — they’re surging.
