Congratulations Michael McKernan for his 3 run Homerun against the Columbia Lions. Michael was a 3 Sport Student-Athlete for our Pioneers playing football, baseball and basketball. Michael went to The College of the Sequoias after graduating from Mt. Whitney. While playing at COS he earned 1st Team honors twice and a two-time Gold Glove in the outfield. Michael has continued his success at Fresno State earning 2023 Academic All-American in Mountain West Conference. Michael is currently hitting .318 and playing center field for Bulldogs. Michael is the son of our very own Pioneer teacher/coach Jim McKernan. He was also a teammate of our current Pioneer baseball coach Payton Allen at COS and for the Bulldogs. Former Pioneer Pitching Ace JT Guerrero is also a Bulldog teammate. We are proud of our Pioneer Bulldogs. Michael McKernan is a great example of hard work and never giving up on your dream.
